Here’s my guitar instrumental cover of “Cannonball”, the 1958 hit written by Duane Eddy and Lee Hazlewood (one of the Essential Guitar Tones to Master for a Legendary Sound). Originally released on the album Have ‘Twangy’ Guitar Will Travel, this energetic track captured the unmistakable “twang” sound that made Duane Eddy one of rock ’n’ roll’s most influential guitarists. Recorded at Audio Recorders Studio, Phoenix, Arizona, and produced by Lee Hazlewood and Lester Sill, Cannonball became a chart success — reaching #15 on the Billboard Hot 100, #22 on the R&B chart, #2 on the UK Singles Chart, and #7 in Canada. This cover is my tribute to Duane Eddy’s pioneering tone and the golden age of 1950s rock instrumentals.
