"Man of Mystery" is an instrumental rock piece written by Michael Carr, originally recorded by The Shadows in October 1960 and released as a double A-side single with "The Stranger" in November the same year. The song reached number 5 on the UK Singles Chart and also charted in the Netherlands. The piece was first composed as the theme for the film series Edgar Wallace Mysteries. Over the years, "Man of Mystery" has been covered by artists such as Chet Atkins, Al Caiola, Bert Weedon, Nigel Wright (as Mojo), Tommy Seebach, Muse, Noël Akchoté, and Basilic Swing. This is my guitar tribute performance of the track, inspired by the timeless sound of Hank Marvin and The Shadows.
